The idea was to create an illustration connecting India Pale Ale, the virusy summer we had in 2020, and also connecting it to the name of the beer which is taken from a tiny secluded beach in Gozo “San Blas”, a beach which is not so frequented by people because its slightly difficult to get to. So i had in mind to illustrate Durga, one of the many Hindu gods which is often depicted with multiple hands holding various types of ancient weapons. The main theme this year was lockdowns, social distancing & facemasks. Everyone did their best to stay zen in these stressfull moments, so the illustrations is showing the Poppstres holding itself together, wearing a mask and holding a measuring tape in hand to always keep her distance.
